Charleston, South Carolina is widely regarded as the “Holy City,” a nod to its historical presence as a beacon of acceptance for all. Religious symbols hold great authority and importance to the Holy City, with church steeples standing as the tallest structures in the downtown area. Established in 2019, Holy City Med Urgent and Primary Care was named to honor more than the iconic steeples, but the faith-based promise to truly care for the Charleston community and provide a safe harbor. Frank Wells, a Charleston native, has a passion for serving others in the medical services area of Urgent and Primary Care. After developing and growing another Urgent and Primary Care group over 12 years, as its CEO, Frank negotiated and managed a successful exit in 2018, at the owner’s request.
With experience in all areas of clinic management and development, including Operations, Finance, Customer Service, Human Resources, Marketing and Legal, Frank and his team collaborated to combine the benefits of several medical services models to bring the best of them together in creating a fast, affordable, quality system under Holy City Med Urgent and Primary Care. The system will open 2 clinic locations in 2020, with 4 planned for 2021, before looking to expand outside the Charleston area. Most recently, the team added “Drive-thru testing” in response to the community concerns about CoVID-19, as well as Video Medical Visits (aka telemedicine with video), to provide medical care with the highest safety measures available, and convenience, for patients. Work-related, or WorkComp, medical services are provided throughout the greater Charleston area, also.
Frank and his wife live on Daniel Island, and love having 2 daughters in college and a son in high school. Frank volunteers time in marriage ministry, the Seacoast Dream Team, LifeWorks Charleston and serves with WorkPlace Impact, a ministry he helped found for resourcing businesses to make an impact for God’s kingdom through work.
