Amber Shaver - Clinical Practice Manager  

Hometown: Small town of Homer, NY 

Healthcare Career: Began working in a long term care facility as a nursing assistant as a junior in high school (2009). Attended and graduated from an LPN program (2015) in Syracuse, NY 

Moved to Charleston: January 2016 and began working as an LPN at Urgent and Primary care. Decided to step into the pediatric nursing world in 2019 and fulfilled the role of Patient Care Coordinator (essentially an assistant practice manager). Joined the HCM team PRN in January 2020 when first opened and felt that while I loved pediatrics, I missed urgent and primary care- providing the best of both worlds taking for adults and sometimes kiddos! Decided to follow my heart and join the HCM team full time in December 2020. 

What I love about HCM: I love the excitement of never knowing what you’ll encounter in urgent care while also building relationships and getting to know our primary care patients well. I have a passion for patient care but also love being the voice of our team and assisting with how to make our amazing clinic the best experience possible for not only our patients, but our team. 

Personal life: Outside of HCM I love spending time with my husband and son, reading, trying all the local coffee shops, and being at the beach or by the pool.
